When you attach a digital signature to a file, you are helping to ensure that recipients of the file are notified of modifications.

You can set an option for a signature to be attached after you save a file. A single digital signature can be attached per file.

If you plan to protect a set of drawings with a password and a signature, first add the passwords, and then sign the files in a batch. Adding a password to a signed drawing, or otherwise changing a signed drawing, invalidates the signature.

Procedure

To set an option for a signature to be attached after you save a file

1. Do one of the following:
   • Click Tools menu  Options.At the command prompt, enter options. In the Options dialog box, Open and Save tab, click Security Options.
   • Click File menu  Save As.At the command prompt, enter saveas. In the Save Drawing As dialog box, click Tools Security Options.
2. In the Security Options dialog box, Digital Signature tab, select Attach Digital Signature After Saving Drawing.
3. Click OK.
   NoteIn the Security Options dialog box, you can attach digital signatures only to files that are compatible with the AutoCAD 2000 and later drawing-file formats.
